Everyone
has encountered someone in their life at one time or another that flat out refuses to
listen to something you have said or maybe even written.
What you have suggested is
surely indisputable truth revealed under the light, but because of a constant hardening
of the heart certain people will deny the
truth without a second thought.
You speak to them the truth as clear as you can, your definition is lucid, but because of their disdain for light spiritual
illumination cannot penetrate their understanding.
Truth is hard for them to comprehend.
Is a lack of understanding the truth similar to Pharaoh's heart?
Pharaoh's heart, or a pharaoh's heart, is a heart that is stubborn, it is obstinate, it is
unwilling to accept truth; even if the truth is presented clearly.
A person who possesses a pharaoh's heart is generally pigheaded, headstrong, and often perverse.
Moses and Aaron were commanded by the LORD
to present his word to Pharaoh, King of Egypt , but he would not listen.
Pharaoh refused to let God's people leave his enslavement.
There has always been opponents to the truth that argue the LORD was prejudice, and the king didn't have a hope or chance in the matter, because the records reveal that it was the LORD who hardened Pharaoh's heart.
Initially God did stiffen Pharaoh's heart but only in the sense that God kept Pharaoh's heart hard.
God did not do anything new with Pharaoh's attitude toward the Israelites; he just made sure the king did not depart from his already established posture toward his Jewish slaves.
The Lord knew Pharaoh's
heart was inflexible.
Why do you think he and his army chased after the Israelites to bring them back to Egypt after he finally agreed to let them go?
It was to bring them back under his power and keep them as his property.
People
who claim to know God can have a pharaoh's heart.
Being obstinate and hard-headed is not unique to the unbeliever.
God is clearly revealing at this
point in time what he has in store for the body of Christ in these final hours
of the church age, yet a number of professing believers reject his spiritual illumination.
Instead they deliberately misinterpret certain passages and verses of Holy Scripture on
purpose.
More often than not, some believers will intentionally misinterpret
God's word to make it fit with their personal agenda.
They purposely refuse to accept God's prophetic word because it is not pertinent with what they have planned.
These self-asserting individuals are quick to run to false prophets
though, imposters who tell them things they want to hear; whispering into their ear lies that give foundation to their itinerary.
They refuse to listen to sound
doctrine and run to every false teacher who will scratch their itching ears.
The truth of God's word is inconsequential to them because they would rather listen to nonsensical
stories than the prophetic scriptures, keeping great distances between
themselves and those whom God has commissioned to reveal what is on his
timetable.
The
king of Egypt had
no intention of releasing Israel
from bondage, and when he was told to let them go he refused.
He was a stubborn
man and it caused his heart to be hard.
God clearly reveals that the
rapture of the church is imminent, it is forthcoming, could happen in the next
hour, but too many refuse to believe it.
Instead many want to hear of the great
things they can accomplish on the earth, which inevitability will take them a
lifetime to achieve these desired goals, so they cannot have anything like a
rapture get in the way of their personal fame.
Being famous is important to many in the Church.
The coming of the LORD does not fit into the plans of so many.
They are predisposed toward earthly objects instead of the heavenly article.
The
world and all its temptations are more enticing to many rather than having their salvation completed, than receiving glorified bodies, and being in physical contiguity with the Lamb of God forevermore.
You
say this is my opinion.
I say put the pharaoh's heart back where it belongs, back in Pharaoh's tomb; back in Egypt.
